Workplace Massage Clients

Getting contracts for workplace massage clients with several businesses in your area is an excellent way to start your practice. If you have an existing practice, this is an wonderful way to boost your practice. You will meet many new people, gain a lot of new clients, and your income will go up.

At first, you may not convince a lot of employees at these businesses to have chair work done, especially if they have to pay for it and it has to be done on their time. Still a dollar a minute for 15 minutes during their coffee break or lunch break is not bad.

Some businesses care so much about their employees that they will pay for the chair massage and allow their employees time for it without cutting into the employee's own time. These companies are few and far between but the numbers are growing.

Once your newly satisfied clients go back to their desks and they tell others how good your work felt, more and more employees will be signing up to see for themselves.

If you are contracted to go into a place of business once a week, each week you will see the number of chair massages will grow. Some employees will want one everytime you show up. Others will go only when they are in pain.

Pain is your biggest ticket. If one person in pain gets work done and that alleviates the pain or corrects the problem, positive word of mouth will spread like wildfire. Others who are having pain will begin to come out of the woodwork.You will have to explain to some of them that they did not get their "condition" in 15 minutes so one 15 minute session of workplace massage will not eradicate weeks or months (not to mention years) of pain. Advise that they may need to schedule recurrent appointments with you to correct the pain.

Schedule a little extra time to show some of the folks in pain how to do some stretches at home to help ease their pain.

Have some business cards handy to pass out to your workplace massage clients. That way, they can book longer or more frequent appointments outside of the office.

Most office work in corporations is set up in 15 minute increments so there really is no time to get much therapeutic work done. Explain this to the client as you perform your basic 15 minute routine.

Make sure you advise your workplace massage clients to drink plenty of water to flush out the released toxins from their cells. **Note--This is what I was taught in massage school, but a few months ago in one of the massage magazines, there was an article claiming this is completely false. Now I am not sure what to think!**

Have your appointment sheet for your next visit ready and ask each client if he/she would like to book for the next visit now while there is still a good selection of time slots open. Most people will say yes and take a preferred time slot. The more those slots fill up, the more the rest of the workplace massage clients will want to book.
