Massage Therapy Shopping

In this section, I will give you some of the best places for massage therapy shopping. There are all sorts of cool things to buy for your business, both necessities and fun things that you may not need but will certainly enjoy having. If you love to shop for clothing and housewares, you will love to shop for business things, too.

Find out where to buy good quality tables and where to get the best massage chairs. These are the best for your clients and for your wallet. I will also give you tips on getting the best cheap massage chairs. Sometimes, you can find good used massage chairs at a real bargain.

Massage linens such as sheets and towels can be purchased inexpensively.

Uniforms for the therapist are not difficult to find. You can buy them at hospital supply places, from catalogs such as JC Penney, or from Wal-Mart and Sam's Club.

Footwear must be comfortable above all else. Shoes that you wear while giving a massage should provide support and have comfortable inserts as you will be on your feet for long periods of time. You can find top quality tennis shoes at department stores.

Sometimes Wal-Mart has name brand shoes for a discounted rate. Or you can purchase the shoes that other medical professionals wear either at medical uniform companies in your town or online. JCPenney also has a medical clothing catalog that you can pick up in any JCPenney store. You can also go online at JCPenney.com.

Massage lubricants can be purchased online and in some stores near you. Bath And Bodyworks carries massage oil, butter, and cream in small containers. They also have aromatherapy candles.

Biotone cream (my favorite) and other massage creams and oils can be purchased at MassageWarehouse. They also carries wax supplies. Paraffin baths and wax can be bought during sales, along with hot stone kits.

Cleansers are available locally and online. You will need hand sanitizer and special sanitizing wipes to clean your chair or table after each use. Hand sanitizer can be purchase at dollar stores or Wal-Mart to clean your hands in between chair massages, but sanitizing wipes must come from a medical company or they will not be strong enough to kill the most contagious germs such as tuberculosis.

Client intake forms, SOAP forms, and business cards are must-haves for the therapist. These can be obtained from local print shops or you can order them from massage companies online such as Massage Warehouse above.

Bolsters, face cradle covers, and massage tools are necessities, along with CD players and CD's for relaxation massage. A good CD player is available at Wal-Mart.

Most of my massage CD's come from Dollar Tree for $1 a piece. I have about 20 different titles. They play calming music and sounds of nature. They are good quality and calm my clients during massage. No need to go out and pay $20 for a CD from a massage company if you can find them cheaper. With a little imaginative massage therapy shopping, you can find some great deals.

For special events, you will want to have t-shirts made with your logo for advertising purposes.

Massage therapy shopping can be fun and can fit into your budget by doing some research and comparison shopping.
