Massage Therapy Music
Hopefully, you were taught the value of playing massage therapy music during massage sessions. If not, I will give you some pointers.
Below is a sample of the massage CD's that I play for my clients during massage. Some of the clients actually go to sleep during the table massages.
Below are some helpful CD's that you can purchase to add to your collection of music and nature sounds while you give massage to your clients. These are relaxing CD's and will work for both table or chair massage.
Remember that it is important for your clients to relax in order to get the full benefit of massage therapy. It is also a great idea to have a good selection of music and nature sounds so that your repeat clients do not get bored listening to the same thing visit after visit.
The proper kind of music played during massage relaxes the client, allowing him or her to let go of everything and relax the muscles as well as the mind.
Calming classical music, sounds of nature, piano, guitar, or harp music all put the client at ease.
Water sounds such as the ocean waves, a soft rain falling, thunderstorms, the sounds of water bubbling over rocks, the rain forest, crickets, birds chirping softly, the sound of the wind rustling through the trees, whale sounds, dolphin sounds are all popular to listen to.
Classical music can include Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and Handel are all popular with people who enjoy classical music.
Lullabies are another form of massage therapy music the clients enjoy, especially children. You will need a good CD player with a repeat button so you don't have to keep stopping and hitting the play button again. A good portable CD player costs between $35 and $75 at Wal-Mart.My massage therapy CD player was not expensive. I bought it at Wal-Mart for a good price, about $39. You don't need anything fancy so don't buy the best sound system for outcalls.
If you are making outcalls, it is important that it is portable. If you will be working outside and you will not be near an electrical outlet, make sure the CD player runs on batteries as well. Always take some fresh batteries along with you.
Play the music at a low volume, loud enough to hear and enjoy, but soft enough so you can hear the client if he/she needs to talk about your pressure or an area of pain.
You should always have music playing during massage unless the client is opposed to it. This applies to table massage as well as chair massage.
