About Me

This page gives you a little bit of information about me, Juanita Schulze, the author of Your Massage Therapy Career.

About six years ago, while my husband was over in Iraq, I decided to become a massage therapist. I had quit work to homeschool our son, Matthew, and decided to make some money part time by becoming a massage therapist. So I chose a local massage school and graduated. I took the state test and passed it and became a massage therapist.

Don't get me wrong. It was hard work. I studied a lot and practiced massage even more. Working for yourself and setting your own hours is a lot of work, but it is rewarding work and beats corporate life. If you want to get out of corporate life, or you want to change your career and help people, massage is for you. Friends and family have asked me about it so much that I decided I could best help others by showing them what I have learned on this website. So here is what I have put together so you can think about becoming a massage therapist.

I have written about all of the basics to help you choose a school, get through school and start your own practice. I have put in a few pages about working for others, but the money is not there and we all need to earn money to pay the bills. Life is too short to not enjoy each day. Dump your corporate job and be free!

If you want to be a massage therapist, you can be. You must be committed and not afraid of hard work. Once you are finished with school and have built a practice, you will have a sense of freedom and accomplishment that corporate life cannot give you.

Good luck as you start your new career!

Juanita
